Xe MRI Cost Estimating Tool

The Consortium has developed a standardized spreadsheet to assist sites in estimating Xe MRI costs for industry-sponsored, multi-site clinical trials. Use of this tool is recommended for studies involving multiple Consortium sites to promote consistency in cost structure and reporting. A Note on This Form

This tool is designed to help estimate your institution’s per-subject cost to conduct Xe MRI for an industry-sponsored, multi-site clinical trial. Start-up and administrative costs are listed separately at the bottom of the worksheet.

The Xe MRI Clinical Trials Consortium recommends using this spreadsheet when preparing MRI cost estimates for multi-site trials involving other Consortium sites. The goal of this tool is to promote consistency across sites in the structure, categories, and types of cost elements included. While the format should be consistent, actual pricing is expected to vary by site based on local factors.

Inclusion of a line item in this spreadsheet does not imply that it must be assigned a cost in your estimate. The tool is intentionally comprehensive to capture a wide range of potential expenses; however, many line items may not apply to your site or to a given study and can be left blank. Line items most commonly used are generally grouped toward the top of each cost category.
